At 40m wide this structure runs past the point where a single clear span stays economical, so it is carried on an internal row of columns. Two 20m bays cost substantially less in steel than one 40m clear span, and for most storage and processing layouts a single line of columns down the centre is easy to design around.
Where the floor genuinely cannot take a column — aircraft movements, overhead cranes running the full width, long-vehicle manoeuvring — the clear span is worth paying for. That trade-off is worth having on the table at quoting stage rather than after.
